Historical context: This comic is dated December 1941. It was published right before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entry into World War II. Americans were well aware of tyrants ruling in Germany, Italy and Japan, but many Americans were still reluctant to get involved.
Dad was right. Billy was right. Though could they imagine that tyrant at home?
